Nursery Class and Reception Class 

Welcome to the Foundation Stage page. I am Miss Cotton the Early Years Foundation Stage Lead. We have an AMAZING team in the Foundation Stage that all work with your children both in Nursery and Reception. 

Our Team is made up of

Early Years

Throughout your child's journey through the early years foundation stage they will be working towards achieving the early learning goals by the end of the Reception year. Each early learning goal describes what children at the expected level of development will be able to do. At the end of their Reception year we assess your children and decide if they have met these or are working towards them. 

There are 3 prime areas including: Communication and language, Personal and social development and physical development.  Guidance is provided alongside these early learning goals to help support staff. This is the Development Matters it is not a checklist of things that your child should do, rather it is guidance for adults who work with children, to help them to support and embed your child’s learning journey.
