Recovery and Reconnection

As a result of the COVID19 pandemic, Mansfield Primary Academy have created a recovery curriculum plan for mathematics. This ensures that all year groups are able to cover national curriculum objectives by the end of the year. Please click on the document below to see how we have planned to ensure all of the key areas are being taught.

DISCLAIMER - FOLLOWING THE SECOND LOCKDOWN AT THE START OF 2021, THE PLAN FOR MATHEMATICS AT MANSFIELD PRIMARY HAS BEEN ADAPTED ACCORDINGLY.

Upon our return to school on March 8th 2021, maths plans were adapted to ensure that classes prioritised key elements of the curriculum that had been missed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was decided that the learning sequence in the recovery plan would be continued via remote learning provision in the Spring term. When children returned to school, all classes focused on the teaching of fractions, a key element for improvement within our PiXL gap analysis in our baseline assessments.

Other areas of adaptation include:

  • Immediate and purposeful intervention within the classroom
  • Carefully scaffolded lessons with clear learning steps
  • CPD for staff including work with the East Midlands Maths Hub using the TRG model
  • Units of work have been slowed down and teachers have adapted planning to revisit previous years content where appropriate
